Welcome!

I am a lover of music, a lover of family, a lover of old school skills and methods, and a lover of God.  All of these passions work together to create the music of our home.  This music often appears as noise and is sometimes unwelcome but never looses the value of being that which will contribute to my homemade symphony, the legacy I will leave behind.

Just as a musical symphony is performed by an orchestra, so is mine.  I have five little musicians each playing their part, one soloist who stand out above them all - my husband, and a conductor who is directing the score which I have written.

Proverbs 16:9 A man's heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps. NKJV

A few years ago, I began to question some of the "ordinary" ways I approached motherhood and homemaking.  I found it quite exciting and fun to discover old school ways to handle common household duties from child training to nutrition and beauty.  I have incorporated many of the things I have learned and now find myself piquing the interest of others who wonder why and how I am doing what I do. So, with much prompting from my husband and others, Homemade Symphony is born!

Some of the topics you may find me talking about are cloth diapering, home birth, whole foods, raw milk, simplistic body care, baking, family, child training, homeschooling, knitting, and sewing.  I don't claim to be an expert on any topic, I have even changed my own opinion on many things after telling others about them, nor do I expect anyone to do what I do! I do it because I like it and I understand that different people like different things.

Enjoy reading and please remember, I am human just like you!  I make mistakes, have bad ideas and might make life sound easier on this site than it really is.  Take it with a grain of salt!
